Temecula — Stephen H. Guyer, 75, died May 7, 2019 at UCSD Health
Center in San Diego following a battle with cancer.
He leaves his wife of 50 years, Linda (Cane) Guyer; his daughters
Sarah Wolford ; Amy Collie; and Gillian Kulp; six grandchildren and
many close friends.
Born and raised in Arcadia, California, the son of Dolph and Dorothy
(Richardson) Guyer, he spent his entire life in California.
In his early years, Steve attended Don Bosco High School and then
went on to attend college before enlisting in the United States Air Force
in 1965. Following basic training he was stationed in Bovingdon,
Hertsfordshire. He met his wife, Linda Cane at a pub in London in
February 1968.
After serving with the Air Force Steve and Linda returned to California
where he began a long career which involved the purchase and
sourcing of raw materials for finished goods. As a result of his career,
he traveled extensively to China, Indonesia, Philippines as well as
Australia and New Zealand to name but a few. He enjoyed traveling
with family and exploring different towns and discovering their history.
In his later years he became a genealogy buff using Ancestry.com and
a number of supportive platforms to pull together family trees.
Mr. Guyer was very involved with his family and of course his
grandchildren. He was very proud of his girls and their
accomplishments and truly enjoyed rooting for them at their high
school sports and was first in line to volunteer to act as a timer for
swim meets.
He thoroughly enjoyed being a supporter for his grandkids and
attended their sporting events (High School Swim/Water Polo; High
School Cheer; and Little League as well as theatrical and musical
performances.
A Celebration of his life will be held on May 19, 2019.
