Florentina Gacuya Laranang

Florentina Gacuya- Laranang, age 93, passed away peacefully on Friday morning, April 30, 2020 in Kaiser Foundation Hospital-Riverside. She was born in Candon, Ilocos Sur on November 6, 1926 to Dionisio Gacuya and Gorospe Gadong. She is the widow of the late Mateo Lambinicio Laranang of Tagudin Ilocos Sur and Baguio City. Preceded in death was his son, Mateo Jr. Florentina is survived by one sibling, Teofilo Gacuya, five sons, Bonifacio, Francisco, Virgilio, Raymundo and Elmo and four daughters, Cynthia, Zita, Leah Juanita and Maria Paz and their spouses, 25 grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. She was a retired elementary school teacher in Baguio City, Philippines. After her retirement, she migrated to California, USA. Her legacy as a true educator and a woman of prayer will live on in the hearts and minds of her children and grandchildren. Her children would not have been where they are now if it were not for her sacrifices, commitment, dedication and hard work. She was an epitome of strength and endurance, full of wisdom which she imparted to her children and grandchildren. She was a loving and caring mother and grandmother, was forgiving and understanding. Florentina lived a good and happy life. She will be deeply missed by her family, relatives and friends. Viewing and mass is scheduled on May 11, 2020 at England Family Mortuary Inc, 41725 Elm St. Murrieta, CA 92562, cremation at Creekside Crematory 27135 Madison Ave., Temecula CA 92590 United States and burial final resting place at Holy Cross Cemetery, 1500 Mission Road, Colma CA 94014.
