Lee Walz Newman

Celebrated educator, Lee Walz Newman, passed away at the home of her daughter in Temecula, CA on Tuesday, July 7, 2020 – she was 74 years old. Born in Hood River, Oregon at the end of WWII, she grew up in Eagle Rock and Pasadena, CA. After her divorce, she returned to education and taught for Serra High School in the San Juan Capistrano School District, where she headed up the Teen Parent Program, and was known to be a fierce advocate for teen mothers.
She is survived by her son, Mark Newman and his wife Molly, daughter, Michelle Newman Borrego and her husband Ernesto, and five grandchildren, Madelyn Newman, Sarah Michelle Newman, Jillian Newman, Alora Borrego and Emiliano Borrego – all of whom were the light of her life.
