It is with great sadness and heavy hearts we announce the passing of Thomas “Tom” Benton Milstead on Friday May,14 2021. Tom was born in Aberdeen, South Dakota to parents Una and Robert Milstead. He attended school in South Dakota where he developed his skills in construction as well as construction management. Upon completion of school he went on to work with numerous construction companies putting these skills to use. He had passions drawing and expanding his mind and enjoyed doing these not only on projects at work but in everything he did. Tom fought a 15 year long battle with cancer but that never seemed to stop him. He will be remembered as a dedicated Temecula Valley Inline Hockey Association (TVIHA) parent and board member as he dedicated endless hours of volunteering while his son played. He truly enjoyed strategizing and guiding his son, Max, with developing his skills on and off the rink. During the past 20 years living in Temecula Valley he built many connections and friendships through work, hobbies, and sporting events. Tom is preceded in death by his parents Una and Robert. He will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by his immediate family-- his son Max, bonus children K.J. and Antonia Lynnsey, and their mother Abigail. Forever he will be remembered by his siblings Chloe, Mary, Peggy, Bobby, Nancy, and Amy. He will also be remembered by his numerous nieces and nephews and extended family and friends. A memorial service will be held at England Family Mortuary on Friday, June 11, 2021 at 3:00pm followed by a Celebration of Life memoriam. All are welcome! Memorial donations should be made to City of Hope Family Funds. This organization continued to help Tom and his family throughout his battle with cancer. 1. At these sorrowful times, maybe this little bit of humor will help. Tom and I worked together for my brother, Dan, at DMC Construction, Inc for a number of years. Although it annoyed me all to hell at the time, I still get a bit of a smile on my face when I think about him greeting me on the job with a “Patty’ O Furniture” with his perfectly timed pauses. The Irish in me will always enjoy that bit of his wit and humor. He is in a better place now, but he will be missed!
