Kai Vega

On Sunday, April 10, 2022, after a two year battle with Leukemia, our beloved son, brother, grandson, and nephew Kai Josiah Vega passed away at the age of 19. Our hearts are broken, but we know he is now in heaven with no more pain and suffering. He forever will be missed in so many ways. Kai was born on September 22, 2002 in Fallbrook, California. He is survived by his Father Ernie, Stepmother Michelle, Sister Leanie, and Brothers Justin and Julien. Kai was a very kind, caring, and loving soul who always put others before himself. Growing up Kai played many sports including baseball, football, basketball, and soccer. Kai was also introduced to music at a young age. He learned to play the guitar and later wrote his own songs. Kai had a passion and talent for music. He was a true artist in many ways. From music to drawing he loved expressing his creative side. Kai also had a good sense of humor with his jokes and pranks. Like every teenager he hung out with his friends, watch YouTube and played video games. A month before his graduation on May 15, 2020 Kai was diagnosed with Leukemia. A month later he graduated from Helix High School. Unfortunately he was not able to walk with his class and had to have his graduation ceremony in the hospital. His attitude always stayed positive regardless of any situation he was in. The following year Kai continued to fight his battle with Leukemia. In 2021 the doctors informed us that Kai was cancer free. Kai beat cancer! This year he had some complications and his body was never able to fully recover from all the after treatments. He fought until the end and showed everyone what a true warrior looks like. We will miss your smile, your contagious laugh, your kind heart, and the love you had to offer. We love you baby boy.
