Stephen Kenton Moss, a beloved resident of Temecula for the past 33 years, peacefully departed this world on November 29, 2023, in Wildomar, CA. Born on December 31, 1956, in Upland, CA, he lived a life filled with purpose, dedication, and love.

Stephen was a proud and accomplished individual, serving his country with honor for 10 years in the US Air Force as a load master, achieving the rank of staff sergeant. Following his military service, he embarked on a successful career as a software developer, contributing his talents to Plant Equipment, International Rectifier, and Skyworks. He concluded his professional journey, retiring from Furniture Medic at Wine Country Woodworking.

A graduate of Hillcrest High School in Dallas, TX, and attended McMurry University in Abilene, TX, Stephen’s commitment to education and personal growth was evident throughout his life. His passion for technology and learning paved the way for a fulfilling career in software development.

Beyond his professional achievements, Stephen was an active member of the community, dedicating his time to the WAVES Project and enjoying his membership in the NRA. He had a special affinity for the antique gas steam engine museum, where his love for history and machinery converged. Also, he was an accomplished equine and wildlife photographer, and had photographed Arabian Regional and Sport Horse Nationals for National Horseman Arabian Magazine, which published many of his photos.

Stephen is survived by loving wife, Debra Gail Moss; children, April Lynne Hadrys, Stephen Kenton Moss II; siblings, James Cardin, David Cardin, and Alison Moss Schmidt who will forever hold dear the memories of his kindness, dedication, and unwavering love.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John Gordon Moss and Doris Swan Anderson; and grandparents, Doris Fletcher Goalby and William Swan.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests a memorial donation be made in Stephens honor to the WAVES Project (951-308-0049) or Green Acres Interactive Therapy (951-302-2384).

May his soul rest in eternal peace, and may his legacy continue to inspire those who had the privilege of knowing him.

Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. I was a bridesmaid at Debbie and Stephen’s wedding. I’ll always remember how they looked at each other so lovingly. My sincere sympathies to Debbie, April and Steven. May he rest in peace.

  2. Steve, I will always remember your kind smiles and encouragements. I am sorry we did not get to know each other better. You were an inspiration to so many of us. Scott

  3. I met Steve and Debbie 13 years ago through my wife Dana Clark. Over the years, we spent time with Steve and enjoyed his dry wit and ferocious love of family and friends. My favorite memory of Steve was attending the wedding of his daughter April when she married Sebastian! It was an honor to attend this joyous celebration even more so to see the glow of pride and overwhelming love he had for his daughter and her new husband. Dana and I are truly heart broken over losing him, but know he is looking over us in Heavan.
