Obituary

Avelino Benjamin Catamen II, died peacefully on August 15, 2021 in Temecula, Ca. He was 52 years young. He was known to everyone as "Benji". Benji was born on July 22, 1969 to Avelino and Nettie Catamen. He was the youngest of 4 siblings and the only son of the family. He is preceded in death by Avelino, Nettie and Angelina Catamen. He is survived by his sisters Kathryn Lagdamen and Ardella Viray. He had many nieces and nephews. He never married and has no children. He went to school and lived in the Bay Area most of his life. He worked as a Pesticide Specialist for some years till he moved to Warner Springs to be close to his mother and sister. He was also the Aquatics Manager at the Warner Springs resort where he maintained the hot springs and pool area. He met many people and made many friends at the resort. He once met actor Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa who played Shang Tsung in Mortal Kombat. Benji had a talent for playing the drums and guitar which he taught himself. In his younger years he and some of his friends played in a band called Crucial Insanity. He also loved watching karate, horror and comedy movies. His favorite actor was Jean Claude Van Damme. We will always remember Benji as a funny and jokingly serious person. His crazy sense of humor will be missed by all. Benji, you will never be forgotten as you were not just a brother to your sisters but also a big brother to your neices and nephews. We will forever remember all the great moments with you. We love you and will always miss you.
