Burton Albert Edwards
Tuesday at 4 PM, October 27, 2020, Burton Edwards passed to the great beyond.
He is survived by his wife of 61.5 years, Zana, his son Burt Jr and his Daughter Nicole. Burton Edwards came from a big family in Arizona. Burton joined the US Army Reserve at the end of the Korean war and then went into the US Air Force, and this would become his career. It was while in the Air Force he met and married his wife of 61.5 years, then they had these children together, three boys and one girl, Burt Jr the oldest, Kenneth number two and David number three and youngest was Nicole.
CMSgt. Burton Edwards retired after 31 years in the military, he was in the United States Air Force, served two tours in Viet Nam, and stationed at various bases around the globe (used to joke, “I’ve been around the world many times.”) After retirement Chief Edwards did general work for a few years, then began as a Junior Reserve Officers Training Corps (JROTC) instructor, where he taught and trained the drill teams. Was there for ten years. While in the JROTC program his drill team won numerous awards and did some traveling to different schools and the Air Force Academy. Chief Edwards has touched so many lives, through his words, his example and his presence. Chief Edwards has been a mentor, a friend a companion and a good listener, this is what has been reported to the family.
The family wishes to send love and thanks to everyone, for all of their prayers, love, support and help, up to and after his passing.

Dear Ms. Zana,
I send my condolences to you and your family. I celebrate your husband’s homecoming with you, and rejoice with you that he finished his race well. For 2 Timothy 4:7 says, “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, and I have remained faithful.” Burton, who I lovingly called Buddy, to me was a humorous, kind, and beautiful human being. It was a delight to be his Caregiver. We became good friends and I enjoyed our conversations about the aspects of life–God, the military, family and humanity.
I truly appreciate him, and how he’d graciously shared his wisdom. I will miss him.
