Charles (Chick) Howard Bowyer JR. born November 9, 1930, in Chester, Pennsylvania entered into rest on November 6, 2023, in Murrieta California.

Chick joined the military in 1952 and was stationed in Okinawa during the Korean conflict. Following his deployment overseas he was stationed at Norton Air Force Base in San Bernardino, California, where he met and married his beautiful bride, Sybil Crawford. Chick and Sybil had four children, Charles (Charlie/Butch) Howard Bowyer III (Melanie), Robert (Bob) Bowyer (Carol), Irene Bowyer, and Cheryl Deem (David). They also have five grandchildren, Kristin Bowyer, Charles (Chet) Howard Bowyer IV (Raudee), Brenton Schultz, Austin Deem, and Nicole (Nikki) Rios (Zekial) and one great grandchild, Kinsley Schultz. Chick passed just 3 days prior to his 93rd birthday, and 5 days prior their 71st wedding anniversary.

Chick was a dedicated father and husband, and worked tirelessly to give his family the life he didn’t have as a child. He treated everybody as if they were special, it didn’t matter who you were or your station in life.

Chick spent the majority of his working life, making a career with Lifesavers Inc., and then Nabisco Brands. It was said that Chick could sell ice cubes to the Eskimos, and as a result, he rose quickly through the ranks of those organizations and was awarded several times, manager of the year. Chick traveled extensively during his career, but when he was home, he dedicated all of his time to his family. He was a baseball coach, motorcycle repair man, ping-pong expert, small aircraft pilot, Mr., fix it, and always had time to wrestle with the kids in the front yard.

Chick, retired from Nabisco Brands in 1984 and has enjoyed many years of traveling the country with his airplane, and in various motorhomes. Chick and Sybil had 71 wonderful years together as husband and wife and they are a wonderful example of what a good marriage looks like. He will be missed very much.
