I will miss visiting with Nelson talking about our days in the service. I am sorry for Myrna and family he will be missed.
I will remember my uncle Nelson to be a kind, big hearted, soft spoken man who did everything he could to make Auntie Myrna happy. Back when I was younger I remember him singing karaoke tunes of Kenny Rodgers at our annual family trips with so much passion. As we all grew up and his children had their own children, I saw how he loved and adored his grandchildren so much as one was always held in his arm or close by. And as the grandkids grew older he was present during all of their many activities. Rest easy now uncle, you are missed but memories of you are alive in our hearts and minds. Love, Fercia Patao
To Myrna and family,
Our deepest sympathy and condolences to the family. We love you!
GSCS(Ret) Nelson Gabiola is my best friend, liberty buddy and classmate at Gas turbine school at Great Lakes, IL. He is a hardworker, very intelligent, easy to learn new things, family orriented and loving Dad/grandfather. He is a very successful veteran (US Navy), retired as Gas Turbine Electrical Senior Chief (GSCS). Went to Nursing School, continued his new career in medical field and became a Registered Nurse (RN). One day when my wife and I visited the Gabiola family, he took me to the hospital and demostrated to me how to do dialysis to a patient. He said, “This is a lot easier than working on a ship, troubleshooting, fixing and maintaining Gas Turbine consoles and engines.” He was a successful Engineer (US Navy), Registered Nurse (Dialysis) and a businessman (Ambulance Service). I learned a lot from you.
Thank you Nelson for your time with us….you did your best always; a loving husband, dad, grand daddy and friend to all. You have completed your mission on earth!
BZ, job well done. You’ll not be forgotten! I SALUTE YOU….GSCS NELSON GABIOLA (US Navy) departing.
Your Pare,
Antonio “Coach” DeJesus
