Daniel Secreto Viloria

daniel viloria
Daniel Secreto Viloria was born on May 23, 1950 in Subic, Zambalez, Philippines to a family of nine siblings. He was affectionately referred to as “Danny” by his family or “Dan” by friends and associates. Most of his early life was a blend of going to school during the day and fishing at night to help feed his family. At the age of 26 he was enlisted into the US Navy. He was one of seven accepted applicants out of hundreds of Filipinos wanting the opportunity at becoming a US Citizen and starting a life in America. He brought his wife, Arlene Viloria, with him to the United States to begin their new life together in California. He became a father in 1981 with the birth of his only son, Daniel J. Viloria. Danny served in the US Navy for twenty one years. “SKC Viloria” is what he would be called because of his rank and position of E7 as a Storekeeper Chief. Eventually, Danny retired in 1996 in Honolulu, Hawaii and then moved to California where he spent the rest of his life.
All of Danny’s friends, family, and associates will no doubt remember his distinct joyful smile and laughter. Danny survived a stroke in 2014. The stroke limited the expressions that he could make with his face and speech, which etched his trademark smile and laughter into everyday speech. Those very close to Danny’s intimate life knew that his generosity and eagerness to help, knew no bounds when it came to helping someone in need. Danny continued to support his brothers and sisters, and their families who remained in the Philippines, whenever he could, in the spirit of Bayanihan, or Filipino Heroism. He would never ask for anything in return.
Danny is survived by his wife, Arlene Viloria, son, Daniel J. Viloria, daughter-in-law Darlene Viloria, granddaughter, Leighton Shay Viloria, brothers, Virgilio and Eduardo Jr. and all of his siblings’ remaining families.
