Dora Marmolejo
February 9, 1930 ~ November 25, 2025
Dora Marmolejo, beloved Mom, sister and auntie, passed away peacefully in her own home on her own terms at the age of 95. She was known as “bahby” to her husband, DeDe to her family, Hermana Pura by her sister Stella and later, Ma’am Dora or Mom to her wonderful caregivers. A woman of grace, generosity, creativity, and gentle joy, she filled the lives of those she loved with warmth, love and an easy laugh.
Born with a natural appreciation for beauty, DeDe found delight in reading, music, art, and dancing. Her fascination with Japanese culture reflected her lifelong pursuit of grace, beauty and serenity. It was also inspired by her husband’s military service in the reconstruction of Japan at the end of WWII. She had a special tenderness for all of God’s creatures — especially frogs, which always brought a smile and became a quiet symbol of her playful and compassionate spirit. Of greater significance, she gave very generously throughout all her life to causes involving children in need either by poverty, disease or abuse.
DeDe shared a profound and enduring love with her late husband, Tom, who passed away five years ago. She missed him dearly, and the thought of their reunion brings comfort to all who loved her.
She is survived by her devoted children, Abel and Amanda. They were guided through life by her strict and unwavering support, wisdom, humor and love. She is also survived by her cherished sisters Lucy, Josie, and Stella and numerous nephews and nieces. Their lifelong bond was one of shared family support, affection, laughter and loyalty.
DeDe found joy in simple, beautiful moments. Her memory will live on in the hearts of her family and all who were blessed to know her. Her legacy will live on in the needy children she prayed for and cared so much about,
A memorial service will be held on December 4th, 2025 with Visitation at 10:30 am. Followed by The Liturgy of the Word at 11:00 am with Deacon Diaz Porfirio officiating at England Family Mortuary 27135 Madison Ave Temecula. Committal will be at 1:30 pm at Riverside National Cemetery. A reception will follow at 2:30 pm at Palenque Kitchen by Mezcal at 3737 Main Street Riverside. Loved ones are invited to celebrate her life and share fond memories of a beautiful woman who gave so much to those in need and to those she loved.
