Doris Mary Dorin-Kochert

doris dorin-kochert

Doris lived much of her life in New Jersey but moved to San Diego these last 10 years at the urging of her family.  She was one of 13 children survived by her sister Frances (102 years old), husband Jerry, son Paul, daughter-in-law Colleen, granddaughters Kelly and Audrey, grandson-in-law T.J., numerous nieces and nephews.  Doris was instrumental in caring for several people who had no close family, providing them with love and compassion during their end-of-life. Her favorite pastime was dancing. Family was most important followed by true friends. Though Doris greatly missed her friends from New Jersey, she was blessed with new friends in her neighborhood in Winchester. She was friendly, warm and will be greatly missed by those who knew her.

A funeral Mass has been scheduled for Monday, the 23rd of June at 10:30, at St Gregory The Great Catholic church, 11451 Blue Cypress Drive in San Diego. PLEASE WEAR BRIGHT COLORS TO HONOR DORIS. A reception will follow. Please inform the family if you plan to attend the reception or call 858-405-9065 and leave a message. Donations are not desired and should instead be made to your favorite charity.

Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. Doris was a beautiful person.
We met her when she came with Jerry to our family reunion.
She was a warm, gracious lady, who was fun loving and seemed to be at ease interacting with Jerry’s family – his three sisters, brother, and many nieces and nephews.
We really enjoyed spending the weekend with her.
After that weekend, we didn’ have the privilege of being with her again in person, but enjoyed phone conversations with her.
    We will miss her.
    God love you, Doris.

  2. My name is Marge and Doris was my Aunt. She also was my God Mother and my Mom gave me her name Doris as my middle name. I loved her very much! When she lived in NJ I stayed with her for a while and we had so much fun! I still make her tuna casserole recipe! When she moved we stayed in touch and on Aunt Frans 100 th birthday her and Jerry made it to Florida for the celebration and she visited us in our Fla. house too, what a lovely time we all had! So happy for those memories now. Her and Jerry were soul mates and I’m so happy they had such a wonderful life together. I know she’s in Heaven with all her huge family members and smiling her special smile. I feel Blessed to have been in her life and will love her forever! Rest In Peace Aunt Doris💋❤️
