Elizabeth Bibb

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Elizabeth (Liz) Bibb, who entered her heavenly home on Tuesday, April 18th, 2023, in Murrieta, California. Surrounded by her loved ones, Elizabeth peacefully took her last breath with her daughter, Laura, and her grandson, Nathan, by her side.
Elizabeth is predeceased by her loving husband, Bill, whom she cherished, just four months prior. She is survived by her daughter, Laura Eskildsen, and Laura’s fiancĂ©, Kevin DeCesaris, three grandchildren and their spouses: Kyle and Ali, Sabrina and Eddy, Nathan, and two beautiful great-granddaughters, August and Reese. She is also survived by Bill’s children, Laurie and Farrell, her brothers Richard and David Korts, plus two nephews, one niece, and many dear friends.
Elizabeth, or “Liz” as she was known to those close to her, lived her life with remarkable energy and
unwavering enthusiasm. She wanted a simple statement regarding her passing: “Liz lived life to the
fullest until the day she died.”
Liz was born in the small town of Joplin, Missouri, on March 12, 1944, to father Ingraban Korts and
mother Eloise Smith. Growing up with two older brothers, Richard and David Korts, Liz experienced the joy of sibling companionship. Her family moved a lot, and because of that, she was able to experience different states. They ended up in Denver, Colorado, where she graduated high school. She moved to California in the summer of 1962 and lived there most of her adult life. She married Grant McIntyre, the father of her daughter, in 1963; they later divorced. In the late 80s, she met the love of her life, Bill Bibb. They married in 1990 and had an amazing life together. They enjoyed boating, motorcycle riding, walking, working in their beautiful garden, family, friends, and volunteering.
Prior to Bill and Liz’s retirement to Temecula, Liz dedicated over 30 years of her professional life to
various business administration positions in Los Angeles, San Diego, and Washington State. She excelled in both managerial roles and as an individual contributor. Liz won many awards for her outstanding performance and ability to lead people. She was a true all-star, and her family is very proud of her many accomplishments.
In retirement, Liz found immense fulfillment by actively engaging in her grandchildren’s lives. She
volunteered regularly in their classrooms, attending field trips, athletic events, concerts, and ceremonies. In fact, as a master gardener and master composter from UCR, she started a garden at Kyle’s Elementary School, Pauba Valley, that is still being used to educate children on the importance of planting and composting. She believed in giving back and helping to educate our youth. Her presence brought immeasurable joy and support to her cherished grandchildren. They will forever love and remember their Grandmother.
In 2000, Liz discovered her true passion when she and Bill volunteered for Habitat for Humanity Inland Valley. They joined as volunteers in August of that year, and she never left. She served as a member of the Board of Directors for eight years and later transitioned into a staff role, serving as a project manager.
Liz was green decades before the word “green” meant anything other than a color obtained by mixing blue and yellow. As a Master Gardener and a Master Composter, she possessed a genuine love for composting. Throughout the years, Liz shared her expertise by conducting planting and compost workshops, speaking to garden groups, and providing hands-on composting lessons to school children and scout troops. Liz loved and respected the earth and believed that every person has an obligation to be a good steward of this planet.
Liz gave quietly to others asking only that they pass it on to someone else, at some other time, in some other place. She told the story of a couple who helped her in a difficult time earlier in her life. Their act of kindness was rooted in the belief that they were repaying the support they received from others during the Great Depression of the 1930s. Liz believed that kindness shared keeps it in perpetual motion.
In honor of Liz’s memory, we kindly request that, instead of flowers, you reach out to someone in need today, offer your volunteering services, or make a contribution to her favorite charity, Habitat for Humanity Inland Valley
