It is with great sadness that I learned of Evelyn’s passage. We became good friends at the same local gym years ago. She introduced me to her husband Cois and then I introduced them to new people who would be their closest friends. During 2009, I moved to northern California, and we kept in touch by monthly email and by sharing recent important and positive things. The friendship continued over many years. Our friendship was very similar to the continuing friendship depicted in a very old live play, and book, called “The Letter”. Those who have seen any variation thereof, know that the depiction of true friendship is all about the very high level of trust and respect for a friend known only a few times in our lives. I am one of many who saw Evelyn as a very positive person who loved her entire family and close friends and who devoted a great deal of her life being there to help children learn the positive aspects of nature. I will retain a huge sense of loss for a person I regarded as my “best” friend. Jack Herman
