Gene Arthur Rorabaugh

Gene Arthur Rorabaugh passed away peacefully Monday afternoon, May 30, surrounded by his wife and children. Gene was born March 21, 1933, in Canfield, OH, where he graduated from high school. Immediately upon graduation, Gene enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served 1951-1955 during the Korean War.
Upon honorable discharge from the Navy, Gene attended Kent State University while working full time, graduating with a degree in Accounting. Gene worked for the next 40 years in the data center of Republic Steel throughout its many mergers and acquisitions and retired in 1995. During his career, Gene was involved in the development of the early computer programming of equipment that operated within the steel mills.
Gene met the love of his life, Dolores, on the beach in Saybrook, OH, and were married nearly 64 years at the time of his passing.
Gene is survived by his wife Dolores (Cuncic) Rorabaugh, Shirley Rorabaugh (sister), daughters Susan Martinez and Nancy Rorabaugh, son Gregg Rorabaugh, Cousin Warren Rorabaugh, five grandchildren, one great grandchild, and Max (Gene’s black poodle).
Gene enjoyed sailing and golfing, and was a member of the “hole in one” club.
Services will be planned at Grace Presbyterian Church in Temecula, CA at a future date.
