Love you so much dear uncle, and your family was always so fun for me! Thanks for the great memories 🙂
Gregory Jan Wicklas

Gregory J Wicklas was taken home to be with Jesus on the 12th day of May, 2023 after a brief and courageous battle with cancer. Greg was preceded in death by his father, Edmund Wicklas, as well as all of his grandparents and many aunts and uncles. Greg is survived by the love of his life Sharon (Jura) Wicklas, his loving sons and daughters-in-law Raice and Brittany Wicklas, Garrett and Alexa Wicklas, and devoted grandchildren Cayson Wicklas, Colton Wicklas and Harper Wicklas. Also survived are his loving mother B. Joy McLaughlin, sisters Holly Wicklas, Julie (John) Dooley, Jill (Fred) Kruger, brother Bradley (Tamara) Wicklas, mother-in-law Laurie (Ray) O’Keefe, sister-in-law Pati (Bruce) Kozlowski, 8 aunts and uncles, 47 first cousins and countless second cousins and friends (many who were like family).
Greg spent most of his formative years in Illinois. As a child he developed a great fondness for most any sport and played with all kids big and small throughout the neighborhood. Greg enjoyed watching and cheering on any of the Chicago Sports teams, participating in football, cross-country or laughing through a good comedy and just hanging out with friends. He graduated from William Fremd High School in 1973.
In 1984 Greg met the love of his life, Sharon. They married and had two sons, Raice and Garrett settling in the Chicago suburbs. Later, there came an opportunity to move to California. He was very involved and supportive of his children, grandchildren, church, work and on many projects around their home. Greg may have retired but never stopped working and always made time for his family, especially the grandkids and friends.
Above all, Greg was a firm believer in Christ. He will forever be missed for his fierce faith, infectious laugh and great hugs. This is not goodbye but until we meet again.
Funeral arrangements were entrusted to England Family Mortuary, Inc.
