Harold Lee Robinson

Harold Robinson, Military Veteran, proud Father and amazing Grandfather, age 94 of Murrieta, CA, passed away peacefully on February 12, 2021, after a long battle with Alzheimer’s.
Harold was born in 1926 to Blanche Robinson, Saint Louis, MO, but was raised by his grandmother, Parrie. At the age of 17, with his grandmother’s permission, he enlisted in the Navy, attaining the rank of Coxswain, V6 USNR. He bravely served in the South Pacific during WWII between the years of 1943 and 1946. After proudly serving our country, he met Peggy Lynn, whom he married in 1947. Harold and Peggy had 7 children during their marriage, and with family in tow, they made their way from St. Louis to Chicago through Detroit before finally landing in California in 1977. Harold and Peggy were married for nearly 54 years until Peggy’s passing in 2001. Harold supported his growing family by delivering bread for Continental Baking Co. Due to his drive and his friendly, outgoing and endearing personality, he quickly advanced into sales. In 1967, Harold was offered a lucrative position at Awrey Bakery where he eventually became a regional sales manager until his retirement in 1989. It is here where Harold formed many lasting friendships that remained to, and beyond, his passing. Harold was a lover of sports, all things St. Louis; and his adopted LA Lakers, relishing their winning ways, especially the 80’s team featuring Magic Johnson and Kareem Abdul Jabbar. In retirement, Harold, who had no shortage of energy, grew to greatly enjoy Square Dancing; where he and Georgia, along with their “troupe”, would travel and compete. When not square-dancing during retirement, Harold enjoyed puzzles, various games with friends and meals at Ritchies!!!!
Harold was preceded in death by his mother Blanche, step-father Bob, sister Barb, half-brother Don, son Dennis, wife Peggy, and his beloved Black Cockapoo Tina. He leaves behind children: Daniel, Debbie, Diana, David, Doug and Daryl; grandchildren: Daniel Jr., John, Melissa, Margaret Mary, Benjamin; great-grandchildren Noah and Thaddeus; half-sister Jeriann; and lady friend of 16 years, Georgia. Harold will be interred with military honors at Riverside National Cemetery on Tuesday, April 13 at 1:00 PM. England Family Mortuary in Temecula is handling arrangements. In honor of Harold Robinson, please consider donating to the Honor Flight Network.
