Hazel Juanita Henson, 86, passed away December 28, 2012 at Long Beach Memorial with family at her side. SHe was born February 23, 1926, in Boswell, Oklahoma; the daughter of Joel Young ad Elsie Atnip. Hazel was a long-time resident of Long Beach and Cypress, CA. She married Jakie Leon 'Pete' Henson on January 11, 1947, in Yuma, AR. She is preceded in death by her husband, Pete; son Robert Dean 'Dewey' and granddaughter Carri Ann Stanley-Boe. She is survived by four children: Ronald Henson of Moreno Valley, CA; James and Rita Henson of Otterville, MO; Iris and Steven Boe of Moreno Valley, CA; and Paula Doss of Cypress, CA; 13 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren. Hazel was a homemaker, babysitter, and a wonderful cook. She loved people, especially children, and welcomed anyone at her table. She was a past member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Compton Pigeon Flyers Club and is treasured by her family.
