  1. We had to say goodbye to our beautiful Nana — the Queen of Scotland 🏴 — and our hearts are aching. Janette Hunter Ure Oliver was not just our Nana… she was a legend, a light, and a fiercely loving presence in all our lives. Still is. Still always will be.

To me, she was more than a mother-in-LAW — she was like a second mom. A beautiful soul, a wise and strong woman, a guiding force in our family. She gave so much of herself to all of us — her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren — and did it with unmatched grace, boldness, and that unforgettable sass.

She was a woman of deep faith, strong will, endless knowledge, and the kind of beauty that radiated from within. She loved unapologetically, laughed loudly, spoke her mind, and yes — added far too much butter every single time she cooked. And we loved every bit of it.

Saying goodbye hurts in ways we can’t quite explain… but as my sweet grandson reminded me, “Why wouldn’t we see her again? Paradise is just around the corner.” ❤️

So here’s to our Nana — faithful to the very end. Full of life, full of love, and now finally at peace.
    Revelation 21:3-4
And with her signature sass until the last breath — “whatever!”

  2. My nan- many called her nan but to me and my cousin she truly was OUR Nan, a title that ment more in so many ways. Nan was a remarkable woman. She was classic in her elegance.. never missed the mark when it came to fashion and beauty. She was a true matriarch to our family whose love, faith, and sharp Scottish wit shaped us all. Nan, beautiful in spirit and deeply devoted to her family 10000%. She gave us nothing but unconditional love, paired with the kind of honesty we didn’t always want, but always needed. Her Scottish roots were a source of pride and her love for jazz music, and books filled our lives with warmth and culture. Although she’s gone, everything about her comes to life in the stories we all share… I can’t walk past a book without thinking about her. “Her we Scottish accent saying “oh what a beautiful book.” My nan was a faithful servant of Jehovah, her steadfast unwavering faith was the foundation of her life and it was an inspiration to all who knew her! she never gave up-not on her family, not on her beliefs. She had a sharp mind, a quick wit, sas to say the least and never missed an episode of Jeopardy, always ready with an answer (or a playful debate). Her love was deep, her honesty unflinching and her presence irreplaceable. I will cherish and hold in my heart all the memories and beautiful conversation we had had until the day comes when i see her again. Just around the corner.
    I love you nan.
