Jeffrey Thomas Bayorgeon

Jeff was born March 9th, 1947 in Frankfurt, Germany to Paul and Helen Bayorgeon. He was born overseas when his father was serving his country in the Army. Jeff grew up in Wisconsin with his younger sisters Pam and Sandy and graduated from high school in Janesville, WI. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Marquette University. Jeff worked most of his career designing and building radar systems for the military at Hughes Aircraft/Raytheon Corporation. He started out as a mechanical engineer and later became a leader and manager of other mechanical engineers in his 26 year career with Hughes/Raytheon. Jeff also was an Industry Advisory Board consultant to Cal Poly San Luis Obispo to help colleges prepare students for the future needs of the aerospace industry. In 1981 Jeff married Raye and a year later they had a son, Jason. Jeff also was stepfather to Buffy and Robby. In 2000 Jason’s daughter Aivee was born and always held a special place in his heart. In addition to his passion for work, Jeff loved having his home theater to watch the Lakers, Green Bay Packers and action movies, going out to dinner and being with friends and family. In 2005 Jeff married Joyce at the beautiful Wayfarer’s Chapel in Palos Verdes, CA. They met while both of them worked at Raytheon and found they had a similar passion for professional football, just for different teams. Jeff was an avid Green Bay Packer fan and Joyce was a passionate Minnesota Vikings fan. However, they both were Lakers fans and their love grew. They added their beloved Havanese dog Bailey to the family in 2005. He has been a constant companion and provided many hours of entertainment for both Jeff & Joyce. In 2010 Jeff and Joyce retired from Raytheon and moved from Manhattan Beach, CA to Temecula, CA. Within the year after retirement Jeff was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease. Joyce was his constant companion and caregiver until April 2015 when Jeff entered the Atria Vintage Hills memory care facility. Eventually the Alzheimer’s disease took his life on July 24, 2015. Jeff passed away at home with his loving wife by his side. Jeff is preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Helen Bayorgeon. He is survived by his wife Joyce, son Jason, granddaughter Aivee, sisters/brother’s in-law Pam & Art Milheiser and Sandy & Erik Johanson, mother & father-in-law Marvin & Charlene Chandler, Joyce’s sister and brother-in-law Deb & Al Louwagie, Joyce’s brother and sister-in-law Jeff & Carol Chandler.
