Commander Joel D. Tiu died unexpectedly on October 12, 2012, while serving with the U. S. Navy in Bahrain. His is survived by his wife, Vida; son Joel; daughter Justine; three brothers: Jerome, Jennies, and Jun; and two sisters Jemelle and Jocelyn.
