John Dean King

Johnny Dean King beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and longtime resident of Oak Park, California passed away on May 1, 2021, surrounded by his family. John was born on January 20, 1941, in Lava Hot Springs, Idaho. He grew up splitting time between the San Fernando Valley in California and the Salt Lake Valley in Utah. He joined the Navy at seventeen and was stationed on the Sea Fox submarine. He had a love of the outdoors, coached soccer, and enjoyed riding motorcycles (on-road and off-road). He married his childhood sweetheart, Martha Boyce King, on September 17, 1960. They were later sealed as a family for time and all eternity in the Los Angeles Temple on July 28, 1979. He cherished her and was especially grateful for the care she has given him tirelessly for the last five years. He would do anything for his children, Tami, Darren (Lisa), Jeff (Liz), Kari (Brandon), and Danny (Julianne). He treasured his 33 grandchildren, Nate (Jessica), Beau (Kayla), Jordan (Britton), McKenna (Josh), Madison (Rudger), Kayleigh, Miranda (Devyn), Jenna (Matt), Ella, Savannah, Spencer, Jacquelynne, Emma, Kirsten, Shimmery, Brayden, Zach, Zoe, Savannah S., Jaymison, Rachel, Adeline, Everett, Melia (Ryan), Ryker (Lyndsey), Garrison, Kylie, Chloe, Christian, Chase, Cooper, Colby and Carter; and 13 great-grandchildren, Sage, Nora, Reve, Milo, Maverick, Wesley, Anders, Brooks, Mya, Mason, Charlie, Baby Boy Dame, Annie, and Clara. He is preceded in death by his mothers, Donna Jean Watson King and Ruth Potter; and fathers, Walter Melville King and Joseph Arthur Potter, his brother, Jared, and sister, Carol. He is survived by his brothers, Brent, Gary, Rob, Gary P., Tony, and Nick, and sisters, Dixie, Deb, Lia, and Deanna.
