Jose Artemio Martinez

Heavenly Father,

We come before you with grateful hearts lifting the soul of your faithful servant Master Sergeant Jose A. Martinez. For 30 years, he proudly and honorably served his country in the United States Marine Corps, defending freedom with courage and sacrifice. We thank you Lord for his strength, his loyalty and his dedication to duty. Grant him eternal rest Lord and let everlasting light shine upon him. May his soul and the souls of all the faithful departed through the mercy of God rest in peace. Comfort his loving wife LaVerne Keeto and his children Emery Leyva, Laramie Leyva, and Ernestina Martinez. Bless his six grandchildren with your peace and guidance. Fill their hearts with your love and strengthen their faith during this time of remembrance. Lord, as you called Jose to serve in the Corps, now call him to serve in your eternal kingdom where there is no pain, no suffering, and everlasting joy. May he stand with all Marines who have gone before him, united in your grace in the company of angels and saints, at his new duty station with St. Peter at the Pearly gates, on guard duty.

Amen.

Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. I’ll miss you Joe. The friendship you had with my dad is always something I was inspired by. You were a delight to everyone around you. Rest in peace.

  2. Miss you Jose. Best thing ever was meeting you for the first time at Starbucks in 29 palms to get hired on. I have enjoyed working with you and getting to know the good and kind man you were.

  3. My Friend and fellow Marine! The memories and the rols you have played in my life can never be replaced. Keep a spot for me up there.

  4. I cannot express how sad I am inside, knowing that I missed my chance to say goodbye to Joe. I have known Laramie and Emery since grade school and I never really got to know Joe until we were all in high school school. And I remember every time going to his house and he would yell my name in hello. He always was smiling and he was always so happy to see us. He always treated me like, like I was a part of his family. I always called him, sir or Pops. Because that’s what I saw in him, was a dad looking after his kids.
Joe loved his family and he loved his country. My heart goes out to his wife, his daughter and his son.
I will carry all of my memories of him with me for the rest of my days.
    I will miss you, Pops.

  5. Haven’t found the words that can explain how I feel about my compadre, but what I can say is Heaven is lucky to have him. I’ll see you again one day brother.
