Joseph Alan Nazarowski

Joseph Alan Nazarowski, 74, has joined the Lord on January 18, 2021, surrounded by family, at
his residence in Lake Elsinore, California.
Joe, as he was fondly called by friends and family, was born on January 17, 1947 in Chicago,
Illinois, the only son of Joseph Nazarowski and Jaqueline Keely.
He joined the Army in 1964, fighting in Vietnam. After his discharge from the Army, Joe joined
the Marine Corps and became part of ANGLICO, continuing his elite service before leaving
active duty. He continued to serve the Air Force reserves, then, the Army reserves while
protecting the community first as a firefighter in the city of Long Beach then as a paramedic for
the port of Long Beach.
Joe truly found his calling as a law enforcement officer in the Long Beach Police Department,
and later on, the Riverside Sheriff's Department. While working in the Riverside Sheriff's
Department, he served as a Staff Non-Commissioned Officer in the military until retirement.
Retiring from the Riverside Sheriff’s Department and the Army reserves, Joe was proud of his
service to both country and community. In retirement, he continued to serve the community
volunteering in the VFW and the Knights of Columbus.
He is survived by his wife Elgin Nazarowski, his sons, Joseph and Nicholas, stepchildren,
Stanley and Toni, son-in-law Marco, daughter-in-law Shannon and grandchildren, Miranda,
Savannah, Sophia, Pierre and Pia. He is predeceased by his son John.
