Kenneth Albert Watts was born in Springfield, Illinois on March 12, 1927 the oldest son of Gladys and Albert Watts. Ken enlisted in the United States Navy in 1944 and served with distinction as a medic on the USS Fall River and the USS Astoria. He was married to Mary Jo Estaque on July 7, 1950. Ken was a creative, hard-working gifted man who worked for General Electric, Miles Laboratories, Hart-Delta Labs, and Hydraculture one of the first Hydroponics businesses in the US. He started and owned his own plastic injection molding company along with his wife Mary. Early in is work life he returned to college at the age of 37, with mom and five children and graduated with an Animal Husbandry degree from Kansas State University. He attended Kansas State on a scholarship through his work in their nuclear reactor program. His greatest joy came from his family of five children and marriage of 69 years. He was a gifted pianist, gardener, mechanic, carpenter and the quintessential handy man. Ken was a follower of Jesus Christ, taught Sunday School, sang in choirs, played piano and organ in services and was an elder and deacon in several churches. Ken is survived by his wife Mary, sister Cynthia and five married children (Steve, Tim, Lisa, Daniel and Julie). He was the grandfather of 15 and great grandfather of 25.
