Kenneth Louis Ortega

kenneth ortega
Kenny was born in New York on June 22, 1967. He later moved to California and resided there. In 1994 he married Regina Valdez and became a homeowner in 1995. Kenny worked as an officer for the Los Angeles Department of Public Safety from 1991 to 1999. In 1999 he left his Public Safety career to embark in a new adventure in cable installation to be able to spend quality time with his new born daughter and his wife. In 1997 he gave his life to Christ and became an amazing godly man on fire for the things of the Lord. He chose to be born again, and therefore chose eternal life. He enjoyed serving on his home church and attending Tuesday and Sunday services. Even though he didn't have an example of a father figure in his life, he was an extraordinary father. He strived to live by example for his daughter and supported every decision that would lead her to a successful life. In 2006 he landed a Geek Squad position at Best Buy. He consistently strived to honor his position by doing his best. He prided himself in leaving work knowing that he helped his customers. He was a hard worker and consistently gave 100 percent to his professions. In addition to his professions, he embarked on a 5 year education plan in pursuit of an undergraduate degree. In 2014 he graduated from DeVry University with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Information Systems, Summa Cum Laude. In 2019 he was blessed to land a Computer Information Systems job and was excited by the opportunities for growth that this company would offer. Aside from serving in his home church, he enjoyed podcast, guns, and music. He was currently a producer and editor for the Firearms Network. He was loved and appreciated by everyone in the Firearms Network community. But most of all, he had a sense of humor that could light up any room. A kid at heart who is finally whole again...he went home to be with the Lord on April 15, 2020. He was survived by his wife, Regina Ortega; his daughters, Jazriel Ortega and Stephanie Jacobo; and his mother, Emmy Arroyo. His survivors are rejoicing for the eternal amazing life he is living in heaven. HE WILL FOREVER BE REMEMBERED BY HIS KIND HEART AND CONTAGIOUS PERSONALITY...

  1. I knew Kenny only through my interactions with him in the Facebook 2nd Amendment groups that we both frequented, but I know that he was one of those genuinely decent people that are far too rare in this world. Condolences to Kenny’s loved ones.

  2. I never got to meet Kenny in person, but I did get to interact with him quite a bit in a Facebook group we belonged to. His quick wit and affinity for sarcasm was instantly appealing to me, and I will never forget that smile. He was also the producer for a podcast that I enjoy, and I will always appreciate his contribution to my education on the 2nd Amendment issues discussed on that show. I truly wish we had met face-to-face, but because we share the same faith I have no doubt that we will someday.

To his family and friends, I pray that God grants you His peace that passes all understanding. Please accept my deepest sympathies.

RIP Kenny. You will be missed.

  3. I remember when we met. You thought I was a middle-child because I talked so much. Ha! Of course, you learned that I was the caretaker for my special needs son and didn’t get out much. You also laughed about how much of a talker your daughter was. Mostly, I remember laughing when we were hanging out.
Until we meet again in Heaven!
    ~Melinda

  4. I will always cherish the memories I have of growing up in New York with my cousin Kenny. We are only 3 months apart in age and were great playmates. Those carefree days of spending time at our grandmother’s house, playing at the park, birthday and Halloween parties, Christmas crafts, weekend get a ways and fun with childhood pets are sprinkled throughout my early memories.

Eventually we both moved to California and while we did not get to see each other often we remained connected through our annual Christmas card exchange and important family events.

I regret letting the time pass and taking for granted the next time we would see each other again. I never thought my next connection would be writing this note.

Kenny was a good man, a great son, husband and father. I will miss him dearly and take comfort in knowing that he will forever be in my heart and is at rest with our Heavenly Father.

Sending our deepest condolences to my Titi Emmy, Regina, Jazriel and Stephanie. We lift you up in prayer during these difficult days ahead and wish for you comfort and peace knowing that you will see each other again in heaven.

  5. I will always remember that smile & how it lite up his eyes! He was always so handsome! I enjoyed his company during our cross country drive. He was curious, a perfect gentleman and oh so smart. We had such a wonderful time. He really blossomed when he met & married Regina, when Jazzy blessed them, he became an even greater man! My kids grew up with him, such sweet memories of when they were all smaller. Rest sweet Kenny, I am so glad that you were a man of God & I will miss you dearly. My sincerest condolences to his mother Emmy, his wife Regina & his children jazzy & Stephanie.

  6. My dear cousin Kenny was a wonderful man who has sadly left us far too soon. Although we saw each other only occasionally over the past few years, we grew up together and I am so grateful for the fond memories we shared. Kenny had a lot of cousins, so even though he was an only child, it always felt like we were siblings whenever we got together. Kenny was a super smart, funny, and mischievous kid who was always up for adventure or a good natured practical joke. I will never forget all the fun times we shared and I will always hold those memories close to my heart. I pray for the continued strength and healing of your loving family. May they find comfort in knowing that you have gone home to our Heavenly Father and are rejoicing in His glory. Sending our most sincerest condolences to you all – Regina, Jazriel, Stephanie & Titi Emmy and the entire family. We are with you and we love you. Rest in peace Kenny:heart:
