Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. We are deeply saddened by the passing of our long-time friend Larry. George has known Larry since their student days together at Los Angeles’ Art Center School (now Art Center College of Design) in the early 1960s. We later shared many fun times during our car design careers in the Detroit area; Larry at Ford, George at GM, along with a close-knit group of “car guys”.
Although we lost contact with Larry during his overseas time, we reconnected in recent years and enjoyed many phone conversations reminiscing about “the old days”.
Larry’s upbeat nature and cheerful outlook were a constant, and he always seemed to make the day a bit sunnier! We will miss him greatly, but we cherish the happy memories.
Our sincerest sympathy to Carole and family. Rest in eternal peace, Larry; we know you’re creating smiles in heaven!

  2. I first met Larry in 1960 while we both attended ArtCenter College of Design in California studying Transportation Design. We were young, enthusiastic, and eager for the future. Larry was always friendly, happy, up-beat, easy to like and get to know. In our early career days in Michigan, he was part of a group of young designers from different car companies who gathered every Saturday to work on, fix, detail our various cars. Then on Sunday we would drive the cars to various events, races, car shows or just to drive. Cars were a focus for all of us. Friendships were bonded and some lasting for many years.
In time, things moved on with job changes, marriages, relocations, career changes and even retirements. Larry’s friendly and up-beat personality always remained. We stayed in touch even weeks before the end, talking to Larry always seemed like it was just yesterday. His buoyant, happy personality was still there just as it was 63 years ago when I first met Larry. He will leave a positive and lasting memory for all of us lucky enough to have known him.
