Margarita Valenzuela Souther

Margarita Valenzuela Souther, age 83, passed away peacefully in her
home in Murrieta, California, on August 25, 2023. She was surrounded
by her loved ones.
She was born December 28, 1939 in Imuris, Sonora, Mexico to Ramon
and Francisca Valenzuela. She was the youngest of 8 children. She
was raised in Imuris, Sonara, Mexico until the age of 12. She then
moved to Mexicali, Mexico. She later became a secretary for a
cardiologist in Calexico, California. She met a sailor named Delbert
Adam Souther through her co-worker. They quickly fell in love. In
December of 1964, she married Delbert. He was her best friend and
true love. He preceded her in death December of 1999.
Margarita worked for the La Mesa Spring Valley School District for over
27 years. She loved working with children. She retired early to spend
more time with her grandchildren.
Margarita is survived by her son Dan Adam Souther and daughter-in-
law Cindy Lagueux; her daughter Isabel Boco and son-in-law Jeffrey
Boco; and three grandchildren – Jordan Boco, Ilyssa Boco, and Autumn
Souther.
She truly loved her family and devoted herself to them.
Funeral services will be held on September 11th, 2023 11:00am at Holy Cross
Catholic Cemetary and Mausoleum, 4470 Hilltop Drive, San Diego,
California, 92102.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude, which was one of
Margarita’s favorite charities; www.stjude.org.
Truly a lovely lady and a joy to talk with.
You are very missed but always in my heart.
