Marilyn Bainbridge
12/22/52-9/16/2025
Beloved sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and cherished friend. She passed away peacefully after a long struggle with breast cancer with dignity at home with loved ones and family.
Survived by her two brothers, Ron and Preston, her husband William and her family of 5 children and 6 grandchildren, who will cherish her life and memory. Memorial service to be announced. We ask for prayers at mass in lieu of flowers or donations.
Marilyn was born to Gertrude and Lee Stamper In San Diego. The only girl in a family of four, she grew up loving friends, the outdoors and her family. These are things she continued to love her whole life. Living in the Bay Area and most recently Murrieta, CA, she loved the wine country and made friends with all who met her.
She was proud of her career. As part of the divestiture of Pacific Bell from AT&T she worked through a part of American telecom history. Finally retiring as assistant director at Verizon Wireless. She oversaw projects ranging from military communications to the first iteration of the Spanish language website for Verizon. Referred to by her colleagues as “The Marilyn.” A woman of leadership, she helped work on projects that transformed the telecommunications industry from analog to digital and web based before retiring.
She will be missed by her loved ones who wish her peace
Funeral arrangements were entrusted to England Family Mortuary, Inc.
We loved and will miss Marilyn. We are praying for the family as they go through this difficult time of loss.
Love,
Billie Hansen
Praying for Bill and family at this time of sorrow. May God grant you peace and comfort at this time.
I was glad to read about her career! I had no idea how awesome she was professionally, though it shouldn’t surprise me.
God bless the family and all who mourn her. The world is less bright without her in it.
While the neighborhood has lost a familiar face, I lost a true confidant and treasured friend.
To have a neighbor like Marlilyn was a gift, to have her as a friend was a blessing. Marlilyns gentle spirit, infectious laughter and “honest advice” left a mark on everyone lucky enough to know her!
Rest in peace, dear friend and neighbor. You are gone, but never forgotten.
