Melvin Thomas Wright

Mel was born to Erville and Louise Wright in Weaverville California. The first of five which included Cherryl, Maryjane, Erville Jr and Donna Marie. He grew up and started school there. Eventually when the family moved to Corning, California he completed school and joined the Navy in 1962. He completed schooling as an Aviation Machinest Mate (ADJ). He was stationed in North Island in a ferrie squadron where he picked up the love of flying, He soon got orders to Moffett Field California and became a flight engineer, After a 20 year career he attained the rank of Chief Petty Officer. After that he got a job as a flight engineer with different companies flying DC8, stretch 8s and eventually 747s flying freight around the world, and eventually moved to Idaho City, Idaho where he spent nearly the rest of his life. The final years were spent with his step family in Southern California.
