Paul Michael Salerno

Paul Salerno, formerly of Passaic and Clifton, NJ, passed away peacefully at his Temecula, CA home on Friday, August 4^th, 2023.  He was surrounded by his Family.

Paul was born and raised in Passaic, NJ. He attended St. Nicholas Catholic School and graduated from Passaic High School in 1951.

He served two years in the U.S. Army during the 1950’s.  He later worked for Dumont Labs during the 1950’s and 60’s.  In July of 1964, he was appointed to the Passaic Fire Department where he served for 30 years.  Paul retired in 1994 after reaching and serving as Deputy Chief.  In 1992, he was awarded “Fireman of the Year” by the Passaic Optimist Club.

In 2008, Paul and Mary, his wife of 57 years, relocated to Temecula, CA to be closer to family.

Paul was predeceased by his wife, Mary, and his two brothers, Peter, and Joseph.  He is survived by three grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Funeral Services are being handled by England Family Mortuary of Temecula.  A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, August 14^th, 2023, at St. Catherine’s Church in Temecula, CA.  Interment will follow at the Temecula Public Cemetery adjacent to the church.
