Richard Alan "Rick" Knarreborg

March 26, 1958 ~ September 26, 2025
Richard “Rick” Knarreborg passed away on September 26, 2025, at the age of 67. He was born on March 26, 1958, in San Diego, California, to Victor Carl Knarreborg and Eleanor Ida Stranley.
Rick spent over two decades serving in the United States Marine Corps, retiring in 1998 as a Master Gunnery Sergeant. His career took him around the world, including deployments during Operation Desert Shield/Storm and in Somalia. His service reflected a deep sense of duty and discipline that shaped much of his life.
After retiring from the Marines, Rick continued his work in defense logistics at Hawthorne Army Depot, where he spent another 20 years contributing to national security.
In his younger years, Rick was active and adventurous drawn to the ocean and streets of Southern California, where he surfed, skateboarded, and played baseball. Later in life, he enjoyed golf, softball, and basketball, and he appreciated good company, a good drink, and a story told straight.
He is survived by his children Rich, Paul, Rita, and Katie and by nine grandchildren who carry on his legacy. He is also survived by his brother, Victor, and sister, Eliane.

So sorry to hear of your passing today, Rick. Thank you for being a loving husband to our mother and a good step father to myself and Mathew. Our kids will certainly miss their Grandpa Rick, especially our “little man” Ethan. I’m glad you and mom are reunited. I just wish it wasn’t so soon.
