Richard Joseph Sherman

Richard Joseph Sherman age 93 of Murrieta, CA. passed away peacefully in his home August 16, 2020. He is survived by his Wife, Garnet of 56 years, and Sons, Dennis, David (Soozi), Douglas (Lori), Daughters, Daile Coyle and Kimberleigh Lenzo (Jack), and fourteen Grandchildren, eighteen Great Grandchildren, and two Great Great Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his Sisters, Idelle and Jessie and his Brother Al. He was fondly called "Richie" by family and friends. Richie went to Fairfax High School in Los Angeles. He and a friend formed a Boy's Club and named it the "Warhawks" after a military plane. The club was resurrected in 1982 and 20-some members came to the first reunion. The Club continued to meet every year until about 2014. Richard served in the Navy during WWII. He retired from his plumbing contracting business in 1986 after 33 years. He was a member of the Kiwanis Club of Woodland Hills, CA. for 36 years, and was president two times. After moving to Murrieta, CA in 1994 his great interest was high school sports particularly for Murrieta Valley High School where he was a fan and attended hundreds of games in the next 24 years. There will be a Memorial Service on September 13, 2020, 2:00 P.M. at THE ENGLAND FAMILY MORTUARY, located at 27135 Madison Avenue, Temecula, CA. Guests are limited by Invitation due to the COVID-19 virus.
