Robert Alvin Winegar

December 29, 2020
Robert “Bob” Winegar, age 85, of Temecula, California, passed away on December 29th, 2020.
Robert was born in Roanoke, Virginia, to Terrence and Doris on December 10th, 1935. After he finished high school, he joined the four branches of the military; US Air Force; US Army; US Coast Guard; and stayed with the US Navy until retirement.
As an Avionics Technician, he travelled around the world working as a contractor. In 1990, he was stationed in Vicenza, Italy, bringing along his wife, Annie and two younger daughters, Winnie, and Jenny. When war broke out in Iraq, he worked alongside active-duty soldiers in the Middle East to service the Black Hawks, insuring they are ready for any mission. Later, he moved to Chase Airfield in Beeville, Texas. Robert loved his job and only retired at age 76 ½, to his final home in Temecula, California, to be close to his children and grandchildren.
In his personal life, he enjoyed collecting ancient Roman and Greek coins, stamps collecting, listening to Bluegrass country music, and playing the dobro in a band. He was a good storyteller, a comedian and to the delight of his children, a prankster who prompted laughter and good times. He was a good Christian, faithfully reading his Bible and treated those around him with love and respect.
Robert is survived by his loving wife Annie, his children Brenda Lee, Lisa, Fernan, Ferdie, Cindy, Winnie, and Jenny. Robert and Annie have 18 grandchildren and one great granddaughter. He left behind a niece, Dasa.
He is preceded in death by his parents, an only sister Arlene and a daughter Drema.
