Robert Roy Price

Robert “Bob” Price was born in Long Beach, CA on July 20, 1942 to Walter and Eleanor Price. He grew up in Long Beach and gradated from Lakewood High School. He grew up a member of the Boy Scouts and was a member of the Tribe of Tahquitz in Angelus Oaks. He attended Long Beach City College and then joined the United States Navy. He served in the Vietnam War between 1962 and 1967 aboard the USS Bexar. Upon leaving the Navy he met and married Juanita Woodward on October 28, 1967. They moved to Oregon where Bob worked for the White City Lumber Mill. They moved back to Southern California to be closer to family. They had their first daughter Jeanna in 1972 and Charity followed in 1975. Bob loved taking the family on backpacking and camping trips to the Sierra’s, and several family canoe trips down the Colorado River. In 1984 Bob worked in the computer lab at Butterfield Elementary, and in 1985, he became the first computer technician for the Lake Elsinore Unified School District. He was a computer technician for 25 years and retired in 2010. After he retired from the school district, he volunteered to teach art classes to elementary school students, where he became known as “Captain Bob” to the students who loved him. Bob loved to travel with his family and made many, many trips around the Western U.S. Among his favorite places were Zion, Grand Canyon, and Bryce Canyon National Parks. Robert led an amazing life and was dedicated to his family. He passed away due to natural causes on March 18, 2021. He leaves behind his beloved wife of 53 years, Juanita, and his two daughters, Jeanna Smith and Charity Hagen, son in law Alan Hagen, and his brother, Richard Price. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations made in his honor to any organization that feeds hungry children. A memorial service will be held in Riverside National Cemetery May 7th at 1:45 p.m.
I miss you Bob, it was fun working with you. You always said you were terrific every morning. We will see you again in heaven.
