TEMECULA – Robert (Bob) S. MacDonald, 87, died Sunday, May 21, 2023.

Born August 28, 1935, in Melrose, Massachusetts, he lived in Temecula for 22 years. He retired in 1989 after over 25 years as a mathematics teacher and the Mathematics Administrator for the City of Beverly, Massachusetts.

He will always be remembered for his love of family and love and compassion for animals, especially dogs.

Mr. MacDonald was preceded in death by his wife of 44 years, Elizabeth MacDonald, in 2003. He is survived by his wife, Mary Jane Larson of Temecula, who he married in 2011; son and daughter-in-law Scott and Sebrina MacDonald of Newtown, CT; daughter-in-law Marykate MacDonald of Middlebury, CT; daughter and son-in-law Linda and Richard Carbone of Henderson, NV; grandchildren Angela Blohm, Jordan Carbone, Amanda, Kristen, Melissa, and
Jessica MacDonald; and great-grandchildren Anthony Carbone and Enzo Blohm. Bob’s two brothers Peter and Billy are deceased, and his brother John is living in NY.

A graveside service will be held at 3:00 PM on June 7, 2023, at the Temecula Public Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, if you would like to make a donation in Bob’s name, please mail a check to Yankee Golden Retriever Rescue, 110 Chapin Road, Hudson, MA 01749, and on the memo line on the check, please write “For Robert MacDonald”.

  1. Bob will be forever missed. I am honored and blessed to have known him. He was truly a blessing in each of our lives. His love for animals was boundless. He was deeply loved by all and will be cherished in our memories forever. May God give him eternal rest.
