Rosalinda Bancud Bangayan, a beacon of love and strength, peacefully transitioned from this world on November 27, 2023, in Murrieta, California, USA. Born on October 16, 1933, in Tuguegarao, Cagayan, Philippines, to the proud parents Pedro (†) and Leocadia Bancud (†), Rosalinda’s life was a tapestry woven with threads of compassion, resilience, and unwavering devotion.

In a quaint ceremony on June 8, 1953, at the Parish of Saint Peter Cathedral, Rosalinda embarked on a lifelong journey with the love of her life, Juan Bangayan (†). This union blossomed into a family where love and unity were paramount. Together, they raised three remarkable children: Jennifer, Jeofrey (†), and Rosbelinda.

Rosalinda’s impact extended far beyond her roles as a wife and mother. Her professional journey as a public teacher in the Philippines reflected her commitment to shaping young minds. Pursuing higher education, she earned her Master’s Degree in Education, eventually serving as a dedicated guidance counselor at the same institution. Her influence on generations of students echoed the values she held dear.

Upon retirement, Rosalinda embarked on a new chapter in the US, spending more than 25 years between Naperville, Illinois and Murrieta, CA. Her days were filled with the warmth of familial bonds, and her home became a sanctuary for love and laughter.

A woman of diverse interests, Rosalinda found joy in sports, having been a passionate volleyball player in her college days. Her culinary skills were legendary, with her vegetable egg rolls and “Biko” rice cake becoming cherished family traditions. Beyond the kitchen, she embraced technology to stay connected with loved ones, often sending handwritten greeting cards adorned with heartfelt messages.

Her nurturing spirit shone brightly in her commitment to family celebrations. Birthdays and anniversaries were never forgotten, and she delighted in sending balikbayan boxes filled with love to her relatives in the Philippines. The essence of her generosity extended beyond borders.

In the realm of leisure, Rosalinda displayed a keen intellect. Sudoku became more than a pastime—it was her secret to a sharp mind. Her travels were documented through the lens of her camera, a testament to her desire to capture the beauty of the world and the love within her family.

Memories of Rosalinda are woven into the fabric of family traditions. The annual All Saints Day gatherings in the cemetery are etched in the hearts of her grandchildren. Her meticulous memory and loving gestures created a sense of belonging that transcended time and distance.

Rosalinda is survived by her children Jennifer and Rosbelinda, her daughters-in-law Marilyn and Nariza, her son-in-law Loreto, her adopted son Randy, and her cherished grandchildren Jerel, Martin, Jay, Loris, Jacciah and Julian, and great-grandchildren Raziel, Marga, Zara, Cecilia, Will, Liam, Ilana and Jack.

The viewing to celebrate Rosalinda’s life is scheduled for Tuesday, December 5, 2023, from 9 am to 5 pm PST at England Family Mortuary. A funeral vigil and eulogy will commence at 11 am PST.

As we bid farewell to a remarkable soul, may the legacy of Rosalinda Bancud Bangayan endure in the hearts of all those who were privileged to share in the rich fabric of her life.
