Ruth Alma Josephine Meyer Beardsley passed away at her home in Temecula, California on August 29th, 2025. She was born in Muskegon, Michigan on September 18th, 1933 to Alma and Alfred Meyer. She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Harold Beardsley, and her older sister, Marilyn Meyer-Prado. She is survived by her 3 children Joanne Bonner, Susan Clewis, and Brian Beardsley. And her 5 grandchildren Braeden, Annika, Sean, Patrick, and Collin.

As a child, Ruth lived in several cities due to her father’s calling as a Lutheran minister. This included Grand Haven MI, Detroit MI, and Strasburg IL. She graduated from Strasburg high school in 1951. She then attended Valparaiso University and graduated in 1955 with a bachelor of arts. After graduating, Ruth moved to Chicago where she obtained a job with American Airlines as a reservationist. Because of her job, she was able to fly to many countries including Mexico and several European countries. After working at American Airlines, she worked for IMRF as a pension administrator. That’s where she met the love of her life, Harold, who was a recent widower with a 1 year old baby girl, Joanne. Ruth and Harold got married on June 19th, 1965. Shortly after, she adopted Joanne. They then went on to have two more children, Susan and Brian. Ruth and Harold moved their family to McHenry IL in 1974, where Ruth was a devoted housewife and mother. Ruth and her husband later moved to Southern California in 1998 to be close to her children and grandchildren. She and her husband settled in Temecula, CA. She really enjoyed spending her golden years in such a lovely climate and town.

Ruth’s hobbies were photography (she took photos of everyone and everything), shopping, spending time with grandchildren, and chatting with her friends. She loved to spend time with her family and always put them first. Her kind heart, bubbly personality, and big smile will truly be missed.
