Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. Bill and I were close friends during pilot training. Before our class reunion, we checked to be sure we would each be at that event in SAT. There, we spent much time reminiscing and getting caught up. A week afterwards, he called me to express how much he had enjoyed our time spent. Somehow, I always thought we would see each other again on this side of the curtain. Bon voyage, Brother. We’ll meet again soon enough. Bruce

  2. Bill was a true spirit of joy. As a member of our Air Force pilot training class 65XG, he was a serious and successful student but also one who was always looking for something that was fun to do…playing jokes, rearranging decorative rocks around the commander’s office. He was always of good cheer and kept us smiling. He will be missed. I will pray for him and I know he will pray for me and all his other classmates. May his soul rest in peace.

  3. Bill was always quick with a laugh or a smile. It was a pleasure to be able to catch up with him a bit at our reunion. So sorry to hear of his passing.

  4. I am saddened to see Bill slip away so young. I had the good fortune to know him for years flying C-130s at Van Nuys. Always had a smile and time for all of us. He was a great pilot who gave a lot of his time juggling family, the airline and the Guard. I always liked his stories growing up in South America. Great to have him as an Aiircraft Commander on our Panama rotations. Some people come into our lives and never leave despite the years passing. Bill was one of those people. My condolences to Mary and the family. He will be missed.

  5. Mary, it is with deepest sympathy that we extend our thoughts and prayers in the loss of your soul mate, Bill. May God wrap His arms around you and comfort you now, and in the coming days. John (Will) and Betty Horton (UPT Class 65-XG)

  6. Mary, So sorry to hear of Bill’s way to early passing. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and the family.

  7. Mary, We are sorry to hear of Bill’s passing. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Duane & Judy Buttell
