Obituary of Candelaria Rapada Arellano

Candelaria Rapada Arellano, 78, died September 26, 2020, with her daughter and son-in-law by her side at the Rancho Springs Medical Center, Murrieta, California. A memorial service was held on Saturday, October 3, 2020 at Saint Teresa of Calcutta, in Murrieta, California. A viewing was held on October 2nd and 3rd at England Family Mortuary, in Temecula, California She was born December 16, 1941 in Cabangan, Zambales, Philippines to Martin Rapada and Marciana Egnisaban. Her father was a farm worker in her Home town of Cabangan, Zambales, Philippines. Her mother was a home-maker caring for the family. Candelaria spent her time working at various occupations such as farming and gardening, bakery, singing, and sewing and was involved as a treasurer for her church in Olongapo. Her parents grew-up in Cabangan, Zambales of the Philippines. She graduated from Cabangan High School in 1959. She met and married Eliseo Arellano. They started a family in Olongapo City and Candelaria was a homemaker while her husband was a Public Works employee. She was an active member of Couple’s for Christ at Saint Teresa of Calcutta Catholic Church where she sang in the church’s choir. Candelaria also returned “home” to the Philippines and helped with administrative work with her former church and assisted her family members scattered through the Philippines. Her interests included family, gardening, sewing, and singing. She devoted much of her time and energy as a caregiver to family members, including her mother until she died at a very early age in her 40s. Candelaria is survived by her sister’s Soledad Buela; Eliza Rapada, and brother’s Ernesto and Luz Rapada; and David and Gloria Rapada; 2 daughters and spouse; Christeta and Wayne Wefel; Marites Arellano and Son; Remegio Arellano; and 4 grandchildren; Wayne A. W. Wefel; Wallace E. W. Wefel; Marikris Arellano; and Joaquin Arellano. She was preceded in death by her husband Eliseo Arellano. We ask for your prayers for Candelaria and her family.
