Manuel Huertas

Obituary of Manuel Morados Huertas

Manuel Morados Huertas of Temecula, CA joined his True Love, best friend, and wife Rose in heaven on February 11th 2021 just 8 days after her passing. "Manny" as he was lovingly referred to, couldn't wait to be with her and most likely apologized to her for being 8 days late.

Manny was born to Pablito “White” Huertas and Paulita Morados in Manila, Philippines. He was the oldest of 6 children and always took being the oldest as a responsibility to being there for his younger siblings. Manny joined the US Navy in the mid 70’s and met his wife Rose as a sailor. They married in 1978 and promptly moved to America to begin their life together. Manny was a man of few words but a man with deep emotions. As tough as he seemed on the outside, he regularly could be caught crying during any movie especially military movies like Saving Private Ryan or children's films like Land Before Time. He was a complex man. Manny enjoyed sports. Much of his day was keeping up with golf and tennis standings and statistics. He was also an avid golfer and played weekly with his best friends. A passion that he passed on to his children. He was a proud Navy veteran and proud American. He always reminded his kids of the life he had in the Philippines and the opportunities that America gave to him. He could always be seen wearing his Navy Veteran hats and proudly raising an American Flag outside his home. Manny was as an airplane mechanic for over 30 years and as hardworking as a man as you can find. He worked long hours and sacrificed so much to be able to provide his children with a private parochial education and any necessities that he wasn’t afforded as a child. Because he was so busy being a provider for his own children, he took the time he had with his grandkids very seriously. He looked forward to any visit from them and his eyes would light up when they arrived. A smile would never leave his face as he watched them play. He will be most remembered for his quiet but very deliberate presence. Choosing when to speak up and often times speaking up when you least expected it. His untimely and embarrassing jokes, along with his long rambling stories will truly be missed.

He is survived by his children Hazel Menor (Adrian), Kenneth Huertas (Bernadette), Michelle Viquez (Alvaro), Ernest Huertas (Emily), Joan Huertas, and Ronald Huertas. Grandkids, Nathaniel Natanauan (Arisa), Paula Valencia (Christian), Kevin Huertas (Charlotte), Emmanuel Huertas, Karl Huertas, Jade Orr, Diego Viquez, Jackson Viquez, Mateo Viquez, Ezekiel Viquez, and Lewetta Rose Huertas. Great grandchildren, Keesh and Natalia. Siblings, Mario Huertas, Vickie Whitaker, Cecil Monsanto and Aileen Sinlao.
