Gartward Mark LaCour

Gartward LaCour was born on in Louisiana, the third son of Ednis and Della. He enlisted in the U.S. Army and honorably discharged having served his country during the Korean War, where he suffered an injury during a training session and partially lost his hearing.
After being honorably dishcarged he moved to Los Angeles where he met the love of his life, Muriel. They married in 1955 and were blessed with six children: Gartward, Lance, Cindy, Barry, Neal and Sedley.
In 1962 they moved to Torrance where, for 30 years, they raised their family while Gart worked as an auto mechanic. He retired as a heavy duty mechanic from the Local 12 Operating Engineers in 1993.
They relocated to Temecula and lived out their retirement years. Although they lived in CA he never lost his love for the Cane River Community that he would forever call home.
He is preceded in death by Muriel, his wife of 64 yeawrs and survived by his six children, their families, including 14 grandchildren and 3 greawt-grandchildren.
