Alfred Johnson

Alfred Edward Johnson died on October 26, 2013 at the age of 90. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Marie; daughters Shirley and Debbie (Kirk); grandsons Ryan (Michelle) and Cory (Ashlie); and great-grandchildren Morgan, Tessa and Dylan. Alfred, a Marine, fought in the Pacific Theatre during World War II, participating in the 'action against enemy Japanese forces at Tarawa G.I. from 20 November 1943 to 15 December 1945. Okinawa, R.I. from 1 May 1945 to 18 August 1945.' He is laid to rest with military honors at Riverside National Cemetery. Deacon A. R. 'Mac' McDaniel (himself a Marine) officiating.
