Alicia Carr

Alicia Carr (Casimiro) was born 1958 in Zacatecas, Mexico and died July 27, 2024, in Temecula, CA. Most will fondly remember Alicia for her beautiful smile and her kind heart. Alicia grew up in Baja California with her mother and siblings. Alicia moved to Los Angeles, CA as a teenager, which is where she met her first husband, Jose Salazar. Alicia bravely stepped into the role of a military spouse, picking up and moving across the country and overseas. Alicia and Jose welcomed their first child, Rosa in 1978, followed by Veronica in 1983, and Daniel in 1986. Alicia and the family moved back “home” to Southern California in 1997. Alicia was a loving, strong, playful, and talented artist. Alicia was kind and made friends everywhere she went, from crafting trade shows to her local grocery stores. Alicia was blessed with a creative spirit, which she highlighted in her career as a Demonstrator. Alicia loved to be creative and make decorative items, from her pom poms to fabric flowers and beaded headbands. Her favorite way to show off her creative side was in her home décor. Alicia loved to decorate and has made a beautiful home that she shared with her daughter and grandchildren. Alicia filled her home with warmth, kindness and laughter. Alicia was a loving and kind mother, but she truly found joy when she graduated to Grandma. Her grandchildren brought her such joy and the playful spirit she always had. Through her grandchildren, Alicia had an opportunity to experience a childhood she was not able to have. Alicia loved family trips to Disneyland, where her face lit up as she watched the character parades. Alicia also loved the holidays; she was a fierce competitor in the annual Easter Egg Hunt looking for the golden egg. Decorating the home for Christmas and filling the home with Christmas spirit made her so happy.

Alicia is preceded in death by her mother, Efigenia Casimiro Perez, her sister, Maria Casimiro, and her second husband, Jan Carr. She is survived by her sister Rosi Brito, her brothers Lupe, Jose, and Gerardo Casimiro, her daughters Rosa Salazar and Veronica Salazar, her son Daniel Salazar, and her grandchildren Kaylin Phillips, Ethan Phillips, Eli Phillips, and Alyssa Salazar, and a host of cousins, nieces and nephews in Mexico and Los Angeles, CA. Alicia was diagnosed with Stage 4 Colon Cancer in 2021. She fought bravely for several years, always maintaining a positive outlook and never complaining. Alicia will be desperately missed by all those she’s left behind. Our hearts are broken, but we are happy that she is no longer suffering and is reunited with her mother and sister.
