It is with  a heavy heart that I announce the passing of my  beloved mother, Barbara Thomasina Tonge, who peacefully departed this world on 8/26/ 2024 at the age of 83 a devoted mother, and cherished friend, my mother was a beacon of strength, compassion, and wisdom throughout her remarkable life.

Born on 12/13/1939  in Manhattan, NY. Mom grew up with a deep passion for helping others, which guided her toward a fulfilling career in forensic nursing. For over 40 years, she dedicated herself to serving the state of New York with unparalleled dedication and expertise. Her work as a forensic nurse was not just a profession but a calling, one where she advocated tirelessly for justice and provided care for those in their most vulnerable moments.

Her legacy in the field is profound, leaving an indelible mark on the many lives she touched.

Beyond her professional achievements, my mother was the heart and soul in my life. She instilled in me the values of kindness, resilience, and love. Her nurturing spirit, discipline , and unwavering support will forever be remembered and cherished by all who knew her. She was the epitome of grace and strength, guiding me through life’s challenges with an open heart and a loving hand.

A celebration of Barbara’s life will be held on Saturday, August 31, 2024.

Mom, your love was my greatest blessing, and though my  heart  is  broken, I know that you are now at peace. I love you.
