Beatrice M. 'Bea' Valencia
April 16, 1924 ~ May 25, 2014
Bea was born April 16, 1924 in Placentia, California to James and Nellie Tafolla. She was preceded in death by both parents and her only sibling, Eleanore. Bea grew up in Placentia where she met her husband Louis Valencia. After graduating from Fullerton Junior College, she completed Nurse’s Training at St. Joseph Hospital’s Nursing Academy. She began her nursing career working in labor and delivery at St. Joseph Hospital, then went to work for Doctor’s Molitor, Stehley and Whiting for 32 years in Val Mesa Medical Building in Fullerton, CA. Bea and Lou were married in August 1947 and raised three sons together. As a family, they enjoyed camping, boating, Boy Scouts, Band, and Drum Corp. They were founding members of the Anaheim United Methodist Church. Bea and Lou enjoyed 31 years of marriage before Lou passed away in 1978. Bea is grandmother to six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Bea relocated to Temecula in 1990 and lived with her son, Paul, and daughter-in-law, Sharon, and family. Bea had the gifts of hospitality and generosity which she expressed through hosting parties, baking treats, knitting scarves and blankets. She loved to travel and was able to visit much of the US including an Alaskan cruise. Other trips took her to Canada, Russia, Germany, Sweden, and Israel. She enjoyed being a member of Temecula Hills Christian Fellowship and Community Bible Study. As a believer in Jesus Christ, Bea knew to be absent from the body is to be home with the Lord.
