Candee Lyn Ballantyne, 68, of Canyon Lake, California, a beloved wife and widow to Michael Ballantyne, loving mother to Kimberlee Ballantyne-Morse and James Maitland Ballantyne, and adoring Nana to grandson Braden Ballantyne passed away surrounded by her loving family on Monday, January 22, 2024 after a hard fought battle with cancer.

Candee was born on July 28,1955 in Riverside, California. The daughter of Conrad and Beverly Copleman, she grew up with her younger sister, Kimberly Staudenmayer. In 1973, she graduated from El Dorado High School in Placentia. Candee met her forever love and future husband Mike through a mutual friend in 1974. They were later married on August 14,1976. Candee was a devoted firefighter’s wife and they spent 46 wonderful years together until Mike’s passing in 2023.

Her greatest joy was being a mother to her children (Kim & Jim) and a nana to her grandson (Braden). She spent countless hours driving back and forth between the ballpark for baseball or softball and to the gym for volleyball and basketball games. She often volunteered to be the team mom, make the team banners, and she loved keeping score as she cheered from the stands. Candee enjoyed cooking for her family. Her homemade prime rib and mashed potatoes, banana nut bread, spaghetti, stroganoff, and fried chicken were among many of the family favorites. Cherished family time and memories were made each summer boating in Lake Havasu, Powell, and Canyon Lake with extended family & friends. In 2015, she gained a daughter-in-law, Mindy Ballantyne In 2017, she gained a son-in-law, Justin Morse.

Candee touched the lives of many with her kind and loving heart. For many she was a second mom or lifelong friend. Her smile and laugh were infectious. She will be remembered for her nurturing spirit, grace, strength, and unwavering support. You are gone but never forgotten! May you rest in peace knowing that you have left a mark on the hearts of all who grew to know and love you.

The family will be sharing details soon on her Celebration of Life and invite all those touched by her beautiful life to attend.
