Craig DeVere Mauldin
December 11, 1967 ~ March 8, 2024
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Craig DeVere Mauldin, who peacefully departed this world on March 8, 2024, at the age of 56. Born on December 11, 1967, in Ashville, NC, Craig was the cherished son of Meredith Alexander and Robert Edgerton.
Craig’s life epitomized honor and sacrifice, as he served his country with distinction in the United States Marine Corps for 20 years. His bravery, dedication, and selflessness left an indelible mark on both his family and his nation.
Beyond his military service, Craig was a pillar of unwavering faith and devotion to his loved ones. Whether he was embodying the spirit of Santa Claus for his grandchildren, enjoying leisurely walks, or passionately supporting his children in their diverse pursuits, from track and field to cheerleading, his love knew no bounds. A proud supporter of Carolina Blue, Craig’s strength of character was matched only by his gentle and caring demeanor, leaving a lasting impression on all who knew him.
Though Craig’s departure creates an irreplaceable void, his memory will be forever cherished by those whose lives he touched. Left to carry on his legacy are his devoted wife of three decades, Bernadette Mauldin; their four children, Jason Larkins, Andrea Glass, James Mauldin, and Craig Mauldin; his adored granddaughters, Raegan and Joie; as well as his siblings: Tajuana Mauldin, Billy Mauldin, Terrell Bates, and Tiffany Woods; along with a host of nieces, nephews, and other family members.
A celebration of Craig’s life will take place on March 15th, 2024, at 5:00pm at the Beyond the Walls Community Church in Temecula. His burial will follow on March 18th, 2024, at 10:00am at the National Cemetery in Miramar, CA.
I knew Craig when I worked at Boeing in St Louis and then when I took a job at the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. Craig was a well-respected radio frequency spectrum manager and will be remembered for his professionalism and devotion. Craig was proud of his service as a retired US Marine Corps servicemember, and it carried forward in his civilian life. Craig will be missed by many, as a coworker, friend, husband, father, etc. My condolences go out to his family and loved ones. Semper Fi Craig!
