Frances Willis Shultz

frances shultz
TEMECULA Frances Willis (Willi) Shultz went to be with her Lord and Savior on May 10th, 2017 just short of her 91st birthday. She was born in Rocky Comfort, MO on May 22nd, 1926 to the late Ester and Roscoe Davidson. She was the 6th of seven sisters. In 1941, Willi moved with her Mother and sisters to Whittier, CA where she attended Whittier High School and subsequently met her husband-to-be John Shultz. They were married on April 7th, 1945, and had 4 children. They remained in Whittier until retiring to Temecula, CA in 2004. Her greatest joy was being a Mom and Grandma. She had a wonderful spirit of hospitality and loved to entertain, including all night New Year’s Eve parties that ended in the early morning hours with an egg and pancake breakfast. She was a master baker of cakes, pies, cookies and her infamous Christmas candy and Santa Claus cookies that she shared as a gift to so many. She loved music and could sit at the piano or organ and play for hours on end, without looking at a single note. Her ability to play by ear allowed her to continue to play beautiful music well after her eye sight failed her. Willi loved her Lord and walked faithfully with him from the time she accepted Jesus Christ as her savior at 15 years of age. One of her greatest desires was that others would know him too. She was an active member of the First Brethren Church of Whittier CA from 1940-1979 where she taught Sunday school and served as the organist for many years. From 1979-2004, she was a member of the First Evangelical Free Church of Fullerton where she mentored a group of young ladies from 6th – 12th grade, and who continued to remain in contact with her over the years. Once she moved to Atria Park, she took great joy in playing the piano for their Wednesday night sing and church service. She was preceded in death by her parents, her 6 sisters, and her daughter Patricia Anne Shultz Cole. She was dearly loved by her family and took great delight in her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is survived by her loving husband of 72 years, John, her sons Randy Shultz (wife Paula) and Jeffrey Shultz (wife Sherry), her daughter Sandra Shultz, and 9 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. We are grateful for the loving care of the Atria Park and Hospice caregivers. Arrangements are being handled by England Family Mortuary of Temecula. In lieu of flowers, please send remembrances to the family by card or email to be collected into a memory book.

  1. We are praying for John and all the Shultz family, but rejoicing in the fact that the future is bright, since we know that there will be a grand reunion in Heaven someday. John and Willi were such a blessing to the Calvary Baptist Church family while they were here. We loved to have them play their duets, with Willi at the piano and John playing his harmonica. Both were always giving encouragements and a good word and both loved the Word of God and lived by the Book. God’s best to all the extended family.
    With love and good memories,
    Pastor Wm, Rench
Calvary Baptist Church of Temecula, CA.
